Job Posting: Captain for Marine Debris Removal Work
Clean The Bay, Inc. d/b/a Clean Bays is hiring a full-time captain to oversee marine debris removal projects in Narragansett Bay. Candidates must be in good physical health and able to work outdoors on the water, year-round in oftentimes challenging conditions. This is a physically demanding job and requires heavy lifting, handling of heavy machinery and power equipment and an eye for safety at all times.
Required Skills:
- Must have a minimum of a 50 Ton USCG Masters Licence
- Physically fit, capable of physically strenuous work including heavy lifting
- “Can-do” attitude and aptitude for solving problems
- Heavy equipment experience required
- Construction/demolition experience preferred
- Project management expertise
- Knowledge of Narragansett Bay
- OSHA training is a plus

Clean Bays depends on its loyal and ambitious team of volunteers to help with debris removal. If you would like to join our team, please sign up here, and you will be contacted with a list of dates when help is needed. We need help in the field, but we can always use help in the office too! Let us know if you are interested in coordinating fundraisers, or helping with other events or activities.

Internship Opportunities
Clean Bays works closely with area schools to provide hands on experience for students of all ages and skill levels. Internship are a great way to beef up your resume and gain real hands on work experience! Internships are available throughout the year during fall, spring, and summer semesters. All internships are unpaid, however Clean Bays is happy to work with your school to ensure that academic credit is granted.
